Emile Gerard founded Chapultepec Labs in July 2022 to pursue investment opportunities and interests that generate great returns, even if they fall outside of conventional investment mandates. Our investments range from real estate, hospitality and finance to art galleries and avocado farms.
More concisely, Chapultepec Labs is Emile’s personal investment vehicle and hobby. Emile is based out of Austin, Texas and Mexico City, but previously lived in New York and Palm Beach where he worked for several premier global financial institutions.
Currently, Emile is the Head of Capital Formation for Setpoint Capital, an Austin and New York based alternative asset manager with an affiliated venture-backed technology platform.
Emile formerly served as Head of Strategy and M&A at Round Hill Capital, a London-based real estate private equity investment firm with over USD $10 billion of assets under management. At Round Hill, Emile reported directly to the CEO and was responsible for defining and executing the firm’s corporate strategy and key strategic initiatives globally. Emile also provided oversight for Round Hill’s investment activity in the United States and Latin America.
Emile was formerly a Vice President at TPG in New York, a private equity firm with over USD $220 billion of assets under management, where he participated in over USD $4.0 billion of real estate transactions.
Prior to TPG, Emile was an investment banker at Goldman Sachs and UBS Investment Bank where he advised clients on over USD $15 billion of M&A and capital markets transactions.
Emile has a BBA in Corporate and Investment Finance from the Business Honors Program at The University of Texas at Austin and speaks English, Spanish and French. Emile is a citizen of the United States, Mexico and France.
